The Firefolk - “Help”

The Firefolk from Pennsylvania, USA, have just released the timeless indie folk-rock track “Help.”

Help” is a track that was written in minutes yet it doesn’t shy away from being grandiose. Filled with a lush, steady, bittersweet swagger the track feels cinematic as it fleshes out its ear worm like melodies. Right from its opening to warm acoustic guitar, shuffling drums and soaring backing vocals “Help” feels beautifully nostalgic. As the song grows in dynamics thanks to the hall like reverb the music feels woozy and wistful.

Lyrically, “Help” explores the feeling of turmoil following a difficult break up, whether to cling to the past or move forward in a new direction. Pumping pure emotion into these words is a rousingly emotive vocal. Full of singalong heartfelt tones the performance feels elegantly perfect.

Produced by Tyler Neil Johnson (John Vincent III, Freyr, Austin Basham), “Help” is intoxicating and stunningly confident. The song is the second single to be taken from The Firefolk’s forthcoming new EP.

Evan Henry Charles from The Firefolk adds that the EP is “a snapshot of a raw, overwhelming moment of life, when I was just wailing out a melody in my bedroom. It’s about floundering in heartbreak and finding your way forward.”
