Terra Lightfoot - “Out of Time (Acoustic)”

Ontario-based singer-songwriter Terra Lightfoot is back with a stripped down, emotionally driven version of her song, “Out of Time.”

The acoustic guitar that opens this track is tenderly lo-fi, successfully establishing an intimate vibe, perfect for listening over your morning coffee as the days start to grow a little shorter. And in that respect, it is quite easy to imagine Terra joining you at the kitchen counter, with her voice ever so raw and entirely unscathed by digital manipulation.

But “Out of Time” cannot be completely written off as a solo performance, with delightful moments of friend and bandmate Elijah “Eli” Abrams’ vocal harmony scattered across its endearing soundscape. This additional layer of vocals only occurs over key areas and it’s quite easy to lose yourself amidst the listening experience as you find yourself waiting for them to arrive.

Lightfoot adds that she “wrote “Out of Time” after having a near spiritual experience with a tree growing on top of a mountain in Austria: I felt so deeply connected to this tree when I saw it, growing all alone without any other trees around. I took it to heart and it became a symbol of perseverance or just growing wherever you’re at, and that being good enough.”

If you happen to be in the market for some raw emotional energy via a fantastic folk performance, look no further than Terra Lightfoot’s “Out of Time,” now available everywhere you get your music.
