Sugar Soap - “Time to Come Alive”
From Australia’s east coast, Sugar Soap encourage us to focus on what truly matters with the indie pop rock tune, “Time to Come Alive.”
“Time to Come Alive” is a track that encapsulates a hazy breeze that you would only find on a beach on a warm summer’s day. One of those days where it feels as if the sun never sets. Kicked along with a pleasing dose of indie pop swagger from the dusty drums and rubbery bass you are immersed in rolling, airy synths and the shimmering grooves of electric guitar. In many ways the music echoes the minimalist traditions of MGMT on “Oracular Spectacular” coupled with a hint of Foster The People and Beck.
Laid-back, verging on hypnotic and in places elegantly entering breathy falsetto ranges, we are served up an incredibly disarming vocal that only serves to cement this track as an ear worm banger. Lyrically, the song explores the turbulence and distractions that can occur when moving on with your life.
Luke from Sugar Soap adds: “You may have heard this one at one of our recent shows, including our set at Lost Paradise. It's a simple, fun one to play live, and it feels great to finally get it out there.”
“Time to Come Alive” is a delightfully infectious composition with amble amounts of sun-drenched guitars, synth and vocals to get you in the mood for sangria on the beach. Sugar Soap are set to announce a run of gigs on the east coast of Australia so keep an eye out if you are in that part of the world.
