Rainbow City Park - “Overgrown”

From Northern California, Rainbow City Park beautifully capture the bittersweet nostalgia and the challenges of growing up with the magnificent indie rock track, “Overgrown.”

Shaped by spacious, rippling reflective electric guitar sounds that are coated in a warm sense of reverb, “Overgrown” is a beautiful track that straddles the line between the intimate and the anthemically cinematic. The layered soundscape builds grandly with a steady, restrained drum beat, deep bass and ambient pads being added to tenderly shape the emotional trajectory of the composition… and at every step of the way it feels strikingly effortless and natural.

Rich and resonant, the vocals are both fragile and commanding, shifting from vulnerable, conversational intimacy to uplifting, radiant strength with ease. The delivery is simply tenaciously beautiful especially when the luscious swells of haunting, spellbinding harmonies lift you into the cathedral-like serenity of the arrangement.

Overgrown” is a slow burning gem of a track filled with irresistible melancholy and nostalgia. The track has us eagerly awaiting Rainbow City Park’s forthcoming EP, Fruitless, which is slated for release in February.
