Oh My Sun - “All I Can Do”
From London, England, indie duo Oh My Sun are back on the blog with the gloriously retro sounds of “All I Can Do,” the second single from their forthcoming debut album.
For those of you in the market for a smooth, vintage-infused production, look no further than “All I Can Do.” Pressing the play button instantly fills the listener with a wondrous dose of nostalgia, complete with a distinct analogue flavor and layers of vocal harmonies akin to the likes of Fleetwood Mac.
All of this warm, classic flavor comes as no surprise, as Oh My Sun gave us plenty of that in their previous release, “5 Pieces,” but the duo is successfully nailing a niche that we wish more artists would utilize. From the thick and creamy rhythm section and swells of horns, to the vibey guitar and retro-style vocal performance, everyone will find something to love within “All I Can Do.”
About the track, Oh My Sun adds: “There’s an innocence to the song, where we begin as children riding in the car, wide eyed and ready for a day that feels like it will never end. It talks about nostalgically dreaming back times you had with someone with a bigger than life personality, the places you went together and how they made you feel anything was possible – but, they’re no longer here. This type of story and feeling was present for both of us when writing, and the chorus is about the way we carry these people with us and hold on to the parts of them which then become a part of us.”
