Based in France, naya mö has just released the brilliant new indie rock track, “wanderlust.”
Tight and punchy, the immersive “wanderlust” is built around the hypnotic pulse of the drums and deep bass. As you are swept up in the rhythmic heartbeat of the track, you get the strong sense that naya mö has laboured as an alchemist whose sole pursuit was turning the base materials of amps and guitars into gold.
Sublime, contemplative, floating, jangly guitar sounds start to unravel and sprawl across the composition in an almost transcendental fashion. Layer upon layer of shimmering, incandescent flares of guitar begin to be applied creating an almost ambient soundscape. Though the production is dense, there is an immersive, vivid sense of vast space melting and enveloping you in a dream like haze.
naya mö delivers a gentle, melancholic vocal across the track that has an elegant sense of drifting through space thanks to the haunting uses of delay and reverb. Throughout there is a tasteful sense that naya mö is deliberately holding back the intensity of the performance, allowing the emotional weight of the lyrics to simmer meditatively.
