naya mö - “reverb boy”
naya mö, from Bordeaux, France, has just released the immersive indie rock track, “reverb boy.”
“reverb boy” is an intoxicating indie rock anthem that is awash with dazzling, slow burning contrasts. Founded on a hypnotic, pounding drum beat, brooding bass and gritty electric guitar, the track has a relentless sense of forward motion. Above, naya mö allows cathedral-esque shoegaze vibes to swirl pensively. Whether it is the chiming guitars or spacious, reverberating textures, you cannot help but be awe struck by the majestic wall of sound.
naya mö’s reflective vocal is incredibly soothing. Breathy tones awash with harmonies dreamily rise and fall as if riding the swirling tide of the music. The track lyrically explores a wistful figure that reflects on the choices that pulled them away from family, friends, and home, whilst offering quiet warnings to those who might follow a similar path.
Ethereal and beautifully haunting, “reverb boy” is taken from naya mö’s debut EP, dealing with ghosts, which is out now.
On the EP, naya mö adds: “The EP is about the ghosts that haunt my mind and body—good and bad, dark and light, love and fear, shadows of memories, ideas, regret, and people linger in my head. I wrote songs about them and drenched them in distortion, reverb, and fuzz.”
