Lyle de Vitry - “To Be Adored”

Asheville, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Lyle de Vitry returns to the blog with the wonderfully intimate sounds of “To Be Adored,” his latest morsel of indie folk glory.

The track fades in with a magnificent sense of ambience before making way for the delightfully finger-plucked sounds of acoustic guitar. De Vitry’s soft vocal performance gently glides across the top of the ultra-chill arrangement, entering the ears of the listener as though the soundtrack of some luminous dreamscape.

To Be Adored” comes equipped with a delicate vocal harmony, conjuring a transcendent vibe that is warmly akin to Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine. For the majority of the track, the production enables us to imagine the song being performed in the same room that we are listening, with a raw and emotionally-charged sonic landscape that seems to know no bounds.

Just past midpoint, “To Be Adored” begins the climb into its glorious crescendo, first with the arrival of some deep bass and some barebones percussive elements. From there, the swelling sounds of orchestral textures provide a grand sense of elevation to the track, leaving the listener no choice but to once again return to the play button for an additional journey through the majestic sound.

To Be Adored” arrives ahead of Lyle de Vitry’s forthcoming LP, Door Within A Dream, due for release on August 2nd. Until then, feel free to give the track its fair share of spins, as well as connect with the artist online: Instagram | Bandcamp | Spotify
