Nashville-based singer-songwriter J.T. Loux and his band have just released the tender indie rock track “GO AHEAD – East Iris Session.”
“GO AHEAD – East Iris Session” is described by J.T. Loux as a song that “was written about the internal struggles of anxiety and how it affects not only your life but the people around you.” This narrative is contrastingly set alongside music that feels reflective and chilled, almost how you would imagine a slow drive into the twilight. With hushed, intimate male and female vocals that intertwine and harmonise sublimely, the track has a great cinematic sheen.
Fleshing out the music underneath are some incredibly atmospheric layers. Velvety acoustic guitar sets a slow pulsing rhythm with muted tones, before opening to warm, breezy chords. Chilled, shimmering electric guitar lines melodically rise up as the emotion swells, yet never swamping the intimacy, only enhancing the wistful, dreamy mood. Locking this in tight is the gentle sway of the drums.
