I Shiver - “Shelter”

From Berlin, I Shiver has returned to the blog with “Shelter,” a smooth, warmhearted track about finding a home within the heart of another.

Shelter” begins with the vibey chords of an electric guitar, laying a completely mellow foundation and setting the pulse of the track. If you’ve ever read our blog, you’ll already know that we are deeply invested in I Shiver’s vocal skills and, here, he has wonderfully double-tracked his performance, giving listeners a simultaneous upper and lower octave as he lovingly delivers lines of lyrics.

The notes of a bass anchor the arrangement to the soundscape, with glorious moments of aux vocals occasionally breaking the surface. And although we typically avoid songs that resemble any sort of a romantic nature, the supreme craft of I Shiver cannot be ignored and fans of Hazlett or Novo Amor will fully welcome his sound into their lives, just as we have.

Upon the arrival of a seemingly infinite falsetto, the production expands to include a heartbeat kick drum and additional layers of guitars. The arrangement swells with synth-saturated textures that bring a marvelous width to the sonic space and we are confident that you will fall in love with “Shelter” at the simple press of the play button.
