Hang Ten - “Oh Here We Go”
Appleton, Wisconsin-based indie rockers Hang Ten have just released the ‘90s-inspired, summertime jam: “Oh Here We Go.”
After a brief fill from the kit, this tune opens up to the blissful sounds of a full-band arrangement, complete with a rhythmic groove akin to the work of Sublime and a shimmering, ear-worm guitar melody that will, no doubt, immediately have you hooked. Rounding out the sound are the chords of a piano, ensuring that no sonic stone goes unturned and providing a wide vibe across the soundscape.
In true and proper Hang Ten fashion– and one of the main reasons that we find their tunes completely irresistible– the vocal performance is delivered via a multi-textured cocktail of glorious layers of harmonization. “Oh Here We Go” comes complete with its dynamic ebb and flow intact, as the band adds elements, then peels them away for a dramatic dose of variation.
The track is upbeat without being over the top, relying more upon its feel-good nature than straight-up danceability, incorporating ear candy, such as record scratches, that will likely have you pining for the 1990s. “Oh Here We Go” is a true delight to have entering your ears; however, we implore you not to be selfish with this it, so open all the windows and crank it up a notch.
“Oh Here We Go“ marks the eighth time that we’ve featured Hang Ten and we would also like to encourage you to take a dip in their previous releases, which are, for the most part, on this same, summer-time-feel-good level: “Balloon” “Pure Vacation” “Don’t Get Me Started” “It Takes Two” “oh well whatever”
