Australia’s Hamish Anderson has just released the vibrant and fresh arena rock track, “So Alive.”

So Alive” is built on slick, iconic guitar tones, from the straightforward, clean, and crisp chuggy guitar parts that form the rhythmic backbone, to the bluesy, biting, and expressive lead guitar licks. Anderson even throws in reflective, sprawling tones and a crying wah-wah to enhance the playfulness of the composition. These layers are tastefully arranged to create that vintage interplay and harmonisation found in classic rock.

Adding another retro layer is the rich organ. Injecting atmosphere and a sense of irresistible grandness, when combined with the thick bass and steady, punchy drum groove, the track feels nothing short of sophisticated and grand.

Anderson delivers a soulful and confident performance that feels incredibly cool and relaxed against the powerful edges of the music. It captures the epic vibe of the rock genre while steering clear of the hypermasculine, hypersexual bravado and arrogance often associated with bands like AC/DC, without sacrificing the timeless, lean, mean essence of the genre.

About “So Alive,” Anderson adds: “If there is one song that defines my new album ELECTRIC and where it sits both sonically and lyrically, I think “So Alive” is that song. It captures this mixture of rock & roll, soul and modern blues, it has both light and shade in the arrangement and I feel it really caught us firing on all cylinders as a band.

Soaked in killer guitar parts, “So Alive” is a triumphant burst of classic rock. Preorder the album ELECTRIC here. Connect with Hamish Anderson: Spotify | Soundcloud | YouTube | Instagram | TikTok | Facebook | X | Website
