Glassmanet - “Lagoon (on the Moon)”

Arriving on our blog ahead of their November EP, Norway’s Glassmanet have just released the phenomenally psych-tinged sounds of “Lagoon (on the Moon).”

Pressing the play button invites a quick, bouncing rhythm into your ears, dominated by eighth notes on the snare until ultimately receding to reveal a heavenly vocal performance. And this is where Glassmanet have completely won our undivided attention, as the lyrics mingle with our emotions, floating throughout the arrangement in dynamically ethereal layers.

The beat gradually reappears to reveal a deliciously chill and lo-fi vibe, allowing for a much-needed bout of introspection as we head into a brief respite following another workweek on planet Earth. And while we typically prefer a bit more of a guitar-forward production, the synthy layers swell and warble above the tight sounds of theremin and bass guitar, wonderfully exercising the listener’s imagination.

Lagoon (on the Moon)” is a brief, two-and-a-half-minute journey through the psychedelic realm that will have you sifting through the Glassmanet’s back catalog before the song even has a chance to end. Get it into your ear now via all major streaming platforms.
