Gigi Wilde - “eye to eye”

London-based singer-songwriter Gigi Wilde has just released the glorious sounds of “eye to eye,” a folk-tinged slice of modern pop-rock.

The intro is lined with a mesh of synthy textures, including a rather ominous foundation that underscores the more playfully melodic notes. This all changes quite abruptly at about twenty seconds deep, with a rhythm that smashes through the sonic landscape, rounding out the production with all the tenacity of an indie rock anthem.

Wilde’s wondrous vocal delivery consists of multiple, softly-delivered layers, at times saturated with a delicate overdrive, spectacularly contrasting with the thunderous nature of the arrangement. Hints of lead guitar slide in and out of the track as it ebbs and flows between a full-band production and the quiet intimacy of an acoustic performance.

In just under two and a half minutes, “eye to eye” gives listeners everything they need in order to have their ears completely satiated by sound. From the song’s superb production, to its profound and introspective subject matter, we are confident that you are going to love this track as much as we do.

About “eye to eye,” Wilde adds that it “is a study of feminine rage. Soft layered vocals over really intense drums is a parable for how I feel about controlling my anger as a woman.” The track is now available everywhere and you can connect with Gigi Wilde online here: Spotify | Instagram | Bandcamp
