New York-based indie artist Amber Renee, aka dayaway, has just released the soothing downtempo chill out track, “soft spun gold.”

soft spun gold” is a smooth, chilled, and atmospheric track reminiscent of Zero 7’s work, sharing the same lush, downtempo vibe that invites calm introspection. Driven by an understated drum groove and the gentle texture of a shaker, the beat is steady and laid-back.

Electric piano and mellotron envelop “soft spun gold“ in immersive, meditative warmth, while tremolo electric guitar and pizzicato strings further enhances the dreamy soundscape. But it is the rich, full-bodied bass that is the standout musical highlight, providing a fluid, melodic groove that is to die for.

The vocal delivery on the track is elegantly soft, breathy, and ethereal. Surrounded by subtle layers of tranquil harmonisation that enhance the sense of depth and space, the entire performance is truly sophisticated and immersive.

On the track, dayaway adds: “soft spun gold is such a tender and sincere song. It’s about a lifetime lived and the people we love along the way. Time passes so quickly. An entire life might feel as brief as a song, especially if you’re having fun doing it. I’m a Scorpio, so I sometimes think about death entirely too much. This song is about wanting to stay, even when you know it’s time to go.

soft spun gold” is a potent wave of relaxing sounds. The track is taken from dayaway’s stunning, new five track EP, ghost beach, which is also out today:
