ARK IDENTITY - “Screens”

Toronto-based Noah Mroueh, aka ARK IDENTITY, has just released the wistful indie rock track, “Screens.”

Screens” is built around the relaxed, reflective, and smoothly flowing tones of acoustic rhythm guitar, with a strumming pattern reminiscent of Half the World Away” by Oasis. The steady, mellow groove evokes a dreamy nostalgia, which is strikingly enhanced by the laid-back, almost shuffling drum beat that kicks along with ease. Beneath it all, the bass provides depth with warm, rounded melodic lines.

As the track passes the halfway mark, the mood shifts to a vibe similar to Coldplay’s “Parachutesera, thanks to the addition of electric lead guitar. The clean, bright, ambient sounds sparkle with ethereal openness. ARK IDENTITY’s vocal delivery holds a palpable feeling of vulnerability and introspection. With a subdued and contemplative tone, the performance beautifully complements the mellow, acoustic driven track.

On the track, ARK IDENTITY adds: “The lyrics paint a vivid picture of drifting through euphoric highs and nostalgic memories, all while being anchored to the screens that define our modern existence”

Screens” is a track where the hooks are subtle and slight, but, as a whole, the composition is bewilderingly full of depth and sweet, haunting harmonies. “Screens” is taken from the upcoming debut EP, ANNDALE, out on November 8th.
