San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Adam Spry is back on the blog with the introspective sounds of “Sun Won’t Rise.”

This track gets started with with a warm and robust arrangement, initially supported by the vibrant sounds of acoustic guitar. The rhythm is quite upbeat, which typically goes against the darker grain of our personal tastes, but it is crafted so well that we simply could not resist its charm.

Coupled with the beat, a melodic bass line wraps some notes around the production, accompanied by an ear-worm hook from the keys. And if that was not enough, the Paul McCartney-ness of Spry’s vocal performance is bound to let you crawl right into “Sun Won’t Rise” and bask within the glow of its nostalgic, 1970s vibe.

Sun Won’t Rise” comes complete with touches of saxophone and a dynamic break that leads it into the final fifth. All of these elements imbue the performance with a glorious sense of ebb and flow, which is exactly why we have not been able to stop listening since it arrived in our inbox.
