Valentin Prince - “Taking Shape”

Richmond, Virginia-based indie artist Valentin Prince has just sent over “Taking Shape,” the opening cut from his self-titled debut LP.

We didn’t think it could be done, but in exactly ninety seconds, Valentin Prince has delivered one of the most glorious slices of modern psychedelia this side of the Mississippi. A brief, synthy tone brings this track to fruition, soon joined by a full band arrangement, complete with zesty vintage seasoning that will have you tripping over your own feet to get to the rest of the record.

It’s as though Valentin Prince has reached into the early 1970s to pluck the succelent fruit from the creamy-rhythm-section forest, with shimmering guitar frosted across the peak of this exquisite dessert for the earholes. A multi-layered vocal performance adds the cherry on top, providing another luscious texture to this authentic, nostalgic ride through complete and total sonic bliss.

After hearing this firecracker if a tune, we truly cannot wait to get the rest of the LP into our ears, now available everywhere you get your music.
