T.F. Gambon - “Evergreen”

From New York, singer-songwriter T.F. Gambon arrives on our blog with the release of “Evergreen.”

This track encompasses everything we’ve come to love about the genre of indie folk. A gentle and melancholic vibe is set forth by the raw and confident strums of an acoustic guitar, with a production so lo-fi and intimate that it sounds as though it is being performed right in front of you.

Gambon’s vocal performance possesses that authentic sense of character that has made us fans of artists like Gregory Alan Isakov and Josh Ritter, leaving the lyrical content easy to believe and emotionally intact. You will not find any obvious signs of autotune here, simply a voice, a microphone, and a splash of reverb.

Along the way, “Evergreen” reveals some fantastic auxiliary vocal layers, rounding out the intimate and sparse arrangement, with a glorious highlight on an ethereal and ghostly slide guitar, coated in copious amounts of vintage flavor. Finally, the track concludes by adding some barebones percussion, which delivers a generous helping of dynamic variation to our ears.

This is our first time hearing from T.F. Gambon, but if he keeps making music like “Evergreen,” he will always have a home on our blog.
