Sundozer - “Still Life”

Austin, Texas-based Christian Luis French, aka Sundozer, has just released a firecracker of a new indie rock single: “Still Life.” And if psychedelically-tinged shoegaze be the sound ye seek, climb aboard this two-minute-and-fifteen-second reverberating joyride.

Still Life” fades in with a swelling synth before erupting into a thick and fuzzy guitar riff, prompting the rhythm section to light the track ablaze. The overall sound is distinctly lo-fi, which, by our standards, is nothing more than the glorious proof that it was made by an actual human being.

French’s vocal follows suit, resounding off the walls of the arrangement with a thick polish of reverb. His delivery perfectly fits the genre, including an ear-worm refrain, “Bang bang pick it up,” that we have been singing to ourselves since the moment “Still Life” arrived in our stack of submissions.

Still Life” simultaneously ticks our boxes for indie rock, garage rock, and shoegaze, and we recommend putting it directly into your ears as soon as humanly possible.
