Vilde - “Subpar sentiment...”

Melbourne, Australia-based singer-songwriter Thomas Savage, aka Vilde, has just released the striking new dream-pop track, “Subpar sentiment, cracking skin, a gene forgotten so long ago.”

The song is built around the endearing foundation of acoustic guitar that reflectively weaves and bursts with a nostalgic warmth. Layers are applied in a hazy kaleidoscopic fashion over the top. Whether it is the crisp percussive grooves, soft splashes of synth layers that weave with a beautiful sense of pristine clarity or the understated touches of bass and electric guitar, the track is beautifully innovative.

The vocal performance is sweetly melodic and intimate as it softly delivers the poetic lyrics. A richness is imbued by the delightful doubling of layers and haunting backing vocals that rise and fall reflectively. The production sounds wonderfully heartfelt and polished. “Subpar sentiment, cracking skin, a gene forgotten so long ago is an immersive pilgrimage into the genre of dream pop. The soothing textures vibrantly ebb and flow, washing over the listener with a pleasing, mellow ease.

Subpar sentiment, cracking skin, a gene forgotten so long ago“ is the first single from Vilde’s forthcoming album, set to be released later this year.
