From Los Alamos, California, folk artist Stefan J. Selbert is back on the blog with the release of his new single, “Henry’s Jokes.”

As with most of Selbert’s work, “Henry’s Jokes” boasts a remarkably stripped-back arrangement, consisting primarily of a duet between two acoustic guitars. While one guitar imbues the track with chords, the other instills a magnificent hint of melody, culminating in a resoundingly raw, introspective sonic landscape.

Selbert’s vocal performance enters “Henry’s Jokes” as honest and heartfelt as we’ve come to expect from his folksy craft, relying upon vibrant lyrics to engage with the listener, instead of falling prey to modern production tricks. If it were not for the lovely harmony added over key areas, you would swear that the track was being performed right in front of you.

If you can spare the two minutes and twenty-two seconds it takes to get “Henry’s Jokes” into your ears, we highly recommend you take the track for a spin. You can also connect with Stefan J. Selbert onlineInstagram | Soundcloud | Spotify
