Dylan Seeger - “Moon House”
“Moon House,” by New York-based Dylan Seeger, is a charming journey down memory lane, thanks to its nostalgic sound and endearing vocals.
The song’s foundation is provided by acoustic guitar, which gently sets the overall rhythm. The song, though, is stripped back, with only a few elements, adding to the rawness of this tune. A shaker gives the song movement and the addition of the electric guitar fills the spaces that are left behind when the vocal is not taking center stage. The only other musical element that is added is clapping, which perfectly enhances the song’s rhythm when used. As the music develops, the song grows dynamically, which is quite satisfying.
One of the song’s highlights is the guitar solo, and Seeger’s playing, for me, seems to be influenced by George Harrison. The icing on the cake for this song is the warm, inviting, and, in places, humorous tone to Seeger’s vocal. The whole performance is full of charm. The “oh la la la” backup vocals are the ideal finishing touch, evoking, again, The Beatles. The falsetto lines are a terrific addition as well, showing off Seeger’s vocal range.
“Moon House” is full of melody and endearing vocals. Be sure to check out Seeger’s album of the same name, now available everywhere.
