Polyglam - “Pleasure“
The Los Angeles indie trio Polyglam have just released the sweet and breezy indie pop rock track, “Pleasure.”
This song possesses a pleasing sense of space and openness, with various musical layers dancing tenderly and vibrantly as they support the arrangement. Touches of violin add a lush elegance as they weave rousingly. A mellow-toned acoustic guitar provides a driving texture, while another acoustic guitar contributes splashes of twirling melodies. Shimmering, reverberated guitar also cascades beautifully over the arrangement, enhancing the wistful and dreamy atmospherics.
However, it is the steady, tight drum beat and bass that permeate a gorgeous, rocking movement. They propel the track forward with an irresistible sense of momentum. The vocal delivery is gentle, breathy, and exquisitely melodic, evoking the sensation of waltzing through the musical layers. As all the instruments join in during the choruses, growing the dynamics, backing vocals are added in order to provide an enjoyable sense of breadth and intensity, making these sections thoroughly engaging and memorable.
About “Pleasure,” Polyglam add: “The track was written one day during a summer housesitting in Silver Lake, sitting on a balcony overlooking the reservoir. The lyrics explore whether or not it’s possible to find moments of pleasure or joy without life’s consequences creeping in. It’s about the infinity of a moment and what may come after.”
