Stockholm-based singer-songwriter Orlando Hotopf has just released the soulful and atmospheric piano rock track, “Half Light.”

Half Light” has a beautifully grounded, meditative vibe, driven by a steady drum groove that marches us through the track at a steady pace. What Orlando Hotopf creates with the musical textures surrounding this heartbeat is something incredibly emotionally expansive. Fleshing out this mood are the soft, resonant, and fine ringing tones of the piano. With the subtle addition of ethereal synths and delicate touches of guitar, the track feels elegantly intimate, heartfelt, and soulful.

Orlando Hotopf, supported by Archie Faulks and First Aid Kit’s Freja Drakenberg, delivers a gentle, almost conversational, yet passionate vocal performance that is imbued with a deep sense of longing and introspection. As the three vocals intertwine, the track becomes nothing short of atmospheric.

About “Half Light,” Orlando Hotopf adds: “Normally when I write songs, they come out intuitively and I figure out the meaning later on, but this one was different. It is about processing the reality of supporting someone who is not well. It's my way of saying that I will always be there, will stay strong and will guide them home even when the road feels long and the ending is barely visible.”

Haunting and sparse, Orlando Hotopf’s “Half Light” is an elegantly wholesome track that is filled with beautiful organic sounds, and one that you do not want to miss.
