Indie alternative duo onlydigitally, from Houston, Texas, have just released their new six track EP, Track Star. Today, we take a look at two of the numbers from this cracking new record.

First up is “dumb dog,” which delves into the inner dialogue of a chronic overthinker. The track has a classic 1990s vibe from start to finish and would fit perfectly as the soundtrack to a reflective montage in a movie. With its warm acoustic guitar, tender weaving layers of electric guitar, banjo, and the crying tones of the lap steel, this mid-tempo track instantly induces an irresistible sense of introspection that you just want to get lost in. Particularly endearing is the demo-like outro which bring a pleasant underlining as to how organic and natural the whole composition is from start to finish.

Up next, “cross country” is an indie alternative cut that explores the relationship a person has with a previous version of themselves. Similarly, this track is surrounded in shimmering, rich acoustic guitar tones and feels just as cinematic. The first indication that this song is a different musical beast is when subtle layers of trippy backmasked sounds start to bleed in around the half way mark. onlydigitally then propel us into a steady, purposeful and intense section filled with hypnotic and punchy drums. Full of passion and flirting with the anthemic it is a bold and tastefully introspective ending.

Intimate, tender, vulnerable, and sublimely reflective, throughout both tracks onlydigitally give stellar vocal performances that feel completely authentic. What makes onlydigitally really special is their knack for vocal harmonies that really bring a palpable and arresting sense of emotion to the music.

Track Star is the perfect companion for any alternative, folk, or indie music lover. Organic and emotionally resonant, it is definitely a record to check out. Connect with onlydigitally: Bandcamp | Instagram | Spotify | TikTok
