Night Swimming - “Let That Be Enough”
From the United Kingdom, Night Swimming have just released the captivating and lusciously haunting dream pop track, “Let That Be Enough.”
The song is built on the classic shimmering dream pop tones of gentle, ethereal guitar that is heavily drenched in reverb. This beautifully wraps the track in an immersive sense of ambient depth into which listeners can complete lose themselves. Lush, though slightly dissonant, arpeggiating electric guitar also brightly jangles, adding to the swirling, reflective, and hypnotic mood.
Pushing the track forward is a drum beat that sounds like the playing style of Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint. The engaging performance is strikingly groove orientated, rich in rhythmic complexity, both in terms of syncopation and offbeats. Subtly hugging the performance whilst instilling a solid foundation to the floating atmosphere is the unfussy, yet warm bass.
The vocal is full of otherworldly beauty and really sets off the track. The performance is soft, delicate, and intimate, yet, due to the classic coatings of reverb and delay, it soars and melts stunningly into the track’s sonic landscape.
Speaking on the inspiration behind “Let That Be Enough,” vocalist Meg Jones adds: “‘Let That Be Enough‘ is about moving on from past experiences, as well as learning to trust yourself and accepting the choices that you’ve made.”
“Let That Be Enough” is a serene track that is rich in evocative vocal melodies and shimmering ambient textures. This release serves as a second taster of Night Swimming’s forthcoming debut EP, No Place To Land.
