Lyle de Vitry - “Morning Song”

Asheville, North Carolina-based folk artist Lyle de Vitry has returned to us with “Morning Song,” the perfect, meditative soundtrack for this first Sunday of August.

Morning Song” provides a lengthy, introspective introduction, filled to its brim with intricate and intimate sounds from a finger-plucked acoustic guitar. The melancholic foley of gentle rain does a magnificent job at setting the scene, the quintessential backdrop for the song’s chill, soul-searching vibes.

De Vitry’s vocal performance is what has ultimately won us over with “Morning Song.” As we’ve stated in the past, the universe has gifted him with a soft baritone that is warmly reminiscent of Angelo De Augustine and Sufjan Stevens– most notably in the multi-layered delivery. The delicate lyrics flow freely into the ears of the listener, allowing a four-and-a-half minute escape from the world.

As the track reaches its crescendo, lush textures of strings find their place in the arrangement, never once deviating from the warm, analogue path of the recording. “Morning Song” is now available everywhere and if you’re looking to be swept away from the perils of existence, simply press that play button.
