Gin Jupiter - “Heart of Black Gold”

Indie-duo Gin Jupiter, from the USA and Sweden, have just released the indie rock track, “Heart of Black Gold.”

Heart of Black Gold” is a textural delight of a track, exuding a warm, mellow, and meditative atmosphere from the very first notes. Over the soft, steady, and restrained pulse of the drums and the smooth, deep bass, clean, jangly, and dreamy guitar tones weave with a timeless sense of ease. Serving as a counterpoint to the guitar are the vintage tones of the electric piano that swirl with a lush, reflective sense of elegance.

In the final third of the song, a delightful, soaring guitar solo rises up from the tranquil groove. Coupled with the use of swelling, crying guitar notes, it conjures the same feeling of Dave Gilmour’s handywork on the Pink Floyd classic “Pigs (Three Different Ones).”

The vocal performance on this track is deliciously intimate, almost conversational, and full of beautiful, breathy subtly. Relaxed and unhurried, and supported by tender harmonisation, the delivery can only be described as a “vibe.”

Heart of Black Gold” is taken from Gin Jupiter’s forthcoming EP, which is slated for release later this year. After listening to this sublime track, you will agree that this record will not be one to miss.
