Georgi Krastev - “Mountain Mare”

Bulgaria-born, Germany-based singer-songwriter Georgi Krastev has just released the emotionally-driven “Mountain Mare.”

The track was written and recorded while Krastev was backpacking through Vietnam, but sounds as though it was captured in a topnotch recording studio. Delicately finger-plucked acoustic guitar provides a dreamy and melancholic foundation for “Mountain Mare,” allowing the lyrics to process the aftermath of immense heartache.

Other than the guitar, the arrangement is quite sparsely populated, with distant swells of ambience providing sonic dimension to the recording. To fill in the gaps of the sonic landscape, Krastev has imbued “Mountain Mare” with what seems to be an infinite supply of vocal layers, leaving the production akin to the work of Novo Amor or certain selections from the Bon Iver catalogue.

Mountain Mare” exists as a means for Krastev to let go after an unexpected and painful breakup, and while many of us can relate to such an intense experience, it is comforting to hear the art that can be born within that heartfelt space. The track is now available everywhere you get your music and you can connect with Georgi Krastev here: Spotify | Bandcamp | Soundcloud | Instagram | Facebook | Website
