Francisco Sola - “Clouds”

Our favorite Buenos Aires-based singer-songwriter Francisco Sola returns to us with “Clouds.”

Sola has once again set aside his more folksy demeanor and, instead, opted to craft some indie pop-rock that is slightly reminiscent of both Keane and James Blunt. After a brief and ethereal fade-in, “Clouds” is brought to life by way of a moderately energetic beat, which becomes a prominent fixture that supports the entire arrangement.

Shimmering and reverberating guitar chords roll out across the production, with the occasional accompaniment of a synth. Soft bass adds a substantial sense of weight and depth, leaving room for Sola’s delicate vocal performance. Time and time again, his voice has been the beacon that draws us directly into his music and we are pleased to inform you that this remains true with “Clouds.”

A soft vocal harmony joins in on the refrain, allowing the lyrics to flow through the listener before Sola utilizes some lead guitar in order to provide “Clouds” with a bit of ear candy. The song is gentle enough to encourage the listener’s much-needed moments of introspection, yet it also maintains an energy that can provide some optimistic pep in your step.

Clouds” marks the eleventh time that we’ve featured Francisco Sola on our blog, and after you’ve given this new tune its fair share of spins, we highly encourage you to check out his back catalog: “I’ll Be Gone“ “Flower Heart” “Seasick” “Safe Place” “The Picture” “Use & Dispose” “Delete” “Warning Signs” “We Never Barked at the Moon” “Lost”
