Eilah - “Simple”
Fans of Sufjan Stevens and Fionn Regan are in for quite a treat once they press play on “Simple,” the new single from Los Angeles-based indie artist Eilah.
“Simple” swells into its sonic position with orchestral-type tones and textures before making way for a remarkably lo-fi layer of acoustic guitar. Across the top of these delicately strummed chords, Eilah’s vocal performance begins in all of its double-tracked glory, begging listeners to lose themselves within his extremely chill and dreamlike delivery.
The second third of the track welcomes the subdued pulse of a barebones rhythm, propelling “Simple” forward and ensuring that listeners remain fully engaged. Before long, some bass makes its way into the arrangement, but it is Eilah’s soft and steady vocal that will keep everyone returning to this one for multiple listening sessions.
“Simple” delves into subject matter to which all listeners can relate. As Eilah puts it, the track is “about how our views change as we grow older and gain more experiences.” It really does not get much more introspective than this– you are going to want to hear this one ASAP.
