Brock Geiger - “Steps Taken”

From Canada, Brock Geiger has just released the vivid experimental indie rock track “Steps Taken.”
This song is built around an intricate yet pleasingly unconventional drum groove, pushing the vibe of the track towards alternative dance. Syncopated, hypnotic, and off-kilter, the beat gives the composition an engaging, fluid groove. The mixture of organic and electronic textures in the beat also ensures that the track is rich in texture.
Complementing the shifting textural layers is a variety of ethereal and vivid synths that gloriously flesh out the melody and add depth, fizzed-out bass, and distorted, expressive lead guitar. The music is thoroughly stimulating and is beautifully accessibly whilst awash with abstract sounds.
For the vocal, Geiger offers up a straightforward, gentle, and light delivery that serves as a guide through the kaleidoscopic soundscape. The performance truly makes the track cohesive and satisfying.
Geiger adds: “Steps Taken was written as a reflection on the intricacies and fragility of relationships, ecosystems built on trust, losing oneself to someone or something, and finding regeneration and a way forward by looking inwards. I’m a big fan of juxtaposition and extremes in art and “Steps Taken” achieves this with its energetic-spazzy, K-Pop inspired foundation for heavier lyrical themes.”
