Avery Lynch - “somebody new”

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Avery Lynch has just released “somebody new,” the focus track from her brand new EP, As Written, Vol 2.

somebody new” is delicately lo-fi in its production, with a sound so raw that it is as though Lynch is performing it for you in your living room, provided you own a piano. And for the song’s entire duration, the soundscape remains in this intimate and vulnerable space, bidding the listener to get lost amidst its melancholic glow.

Although the notes from the piano are quite sensational, Lynch has completely won us over with her vocal performance. Like the rest of “somebody new,” her voice exists with minimal production and maximum emotional integrity. For this reason, we find ourselves hanging onto each syllable and believing every word that Lynch delivers, as though it’s the truth we’ve all been waiting for.

About the song, Lynch adds: “It’s a love song that’s so real and honest that it’s also heartbreaking… It’s about loving someone so much that you don’t want to be with anyone else. And if they want someone new, you want that for them, though that wouldn’t change how you feel.”

somebody new” is now available everywhere you get your music, and once you’ve heard it, we are confident that you will feel compelled to take a deeper dive into Lynch’s new EP:
