Wickerbird - “little weavings”

We certainly love those spectacular waves of reverb that easily sweep the listener away from all the stressors of the day to day, just as done in the fantastical work of Wickerbird. Atmospheric dream-folk maestro Blake Cowen conjured up this musical project in the treelined foothills of Mt. Ranier. His latest body of work, an album called The Sea Weaver, is set to be released on November 11, so what better time to tell you about his new track, “little weavings,” than right now.

This is the fifth and final single being released ahead of the album and is filled to the brim with stellar finger-plucked guitar, layered vocals, and so much atmosphere that you will feel like you are receiving a transmission from another time… another place… while simultaneously being convinced that he is just down the hall from wherever you are right now. The lyrics are filled with such vivd imagery that you will be forced to recreate each line in your head, like a film that cannot move forward without its soundtrack companion. And you should not move forward with your day until you’ve pressed play:

Of course, not to be forgotten are the other offerings from The Sea Weaver and we would be remiss not to mention a favorite of ours, “a crossing song.” You can listen to that one here as well:

And, of course, “little weavings” is also available on Spotify and everywhere else you stream your music:
