Vilde - “Slow learning, long yearning”

Melbourne, Australia-based Thomas Savage, aka Vilde, has just released the vibrant indie folk track, “Slow learning, long yearning.”

This song features some truly gorgeous mellow acoustic layers. Not only do they inject a pleasing sense of authenticity into the composition, but they also imbue a wonderful sense of woven texture. Atmospheric analog synth layers further shape the track’s dreamy melodies with cozy and inviting tones.

Providing a sense of momentum is an electronic rhythm that lends a lush, polished glaze to the mellow textures that envelop the arrangement. The eclectic, synthetic beats also beautifully enhance the introspective mood with an almost hypnotic groove. Underneath, bass pulses warmly, helping to anchor the sound and offering a pleasing sense of continuity through the shifting layers.

The vocal of Vilde is exquisitely gentle and tender in expression. It has a strikingly heartfelt tone, which, for me, is reminiscent of Paul McCartney. The well-arranged harmonies charmingly enhance the sincerity and depth of the poetic lyrics.

Slow learning, long yearning” is a meditative and tasteful experimental track that will make you want to dive further into Vilde’s back catalogue. This track is the second single from Vilde’s forthcoming album. Connect with Vilde: Spotify | Instagram | Facebook
