Feralman, Omni of Halos, & Mansfield
“Golden Canary,” a new song by Cardiff, Wales-based musician Feralman, has just been made available. The song begins with some gorgeously recorded guitar and then has some opulently mixed vocals that build, layer after layer, into an acoustic epic. The song keeps you fascinated with its beautiful, long-held violin notes and the odd shake of the tambourine. All the instruments are mixed perfectly and have some lovely nuances. “Golden Canary” inspires a mood that is tranquil and soothing. There are a few moments of pure, magnificently booming, low drumming that are positively joyful. This is really good work and is well worth checking out. -John Michie
These amps must go to 13… This song sounds loud with the volume turned down! Omni of Halos drowns the listener in gobs of guitars with their tune “Birds Follow My Path.” If you’re in the mood for some “I think I will put my head inside this speaker cabinet” grungy noise rock, look no further! It’s got a cool little (I mean giant) guitar melody that sets off the wash of exploding cymbals nicely. -Mark Grider
Mansifeld's new song, "Chasing After You," brings a taste of the mid-1990s with it. The vocal strongly resembles an early Ian Brown voice, mixed with a Liam Gallagher timbre. This tune features some extremely awesome lead guitar licks. Lyrically, the songwriting seems to have been highly influenced by the 1960s; one might easily envision The Swinging Blue Jeans being the original writers. This meets all the criteria for independent pop and is well worthy of the two minutes and fifty-four seconds it will take you to become a fan. -John Michie
