California-based singer-songwriter Todd Binder has just released the upbeat folk rock track, “Easy Kinda.” This song has a pleasing, vintage vibe– as though walking in the footsteps of the bangers from Creedence Clearwater Revivaland Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Easy Kinda“ opens with a short, almost Dave Gilmour-esque expressive intro. It has the same bluesy vibe, with a reflective organ hauntingly supporting the crying tones of the guitar. This soon breaks into an upbeat, shuffling groove. The drums push the track forward with an irresistible sense of swagger, bopping along in a steady groove or adding a lush sense of movement with the toms. The bass imbues a sense of tension as it satisfyingly pulses underneath.

The track’s guitar layers are simply to die for. The acoustic guitars sparkle with twangy, warm, and mellow textures. The rhythmic electric guitar adds complexity with dreamy licks or gritty, staccato chords, while the lead electric guitar moodily pads the song with reflective wails.

The vocal of Todd Binder complements the track with a rich, soulful, and expressive performance. It shifts effortlessly from a heartfelt, raw raspiness to spirited sections of uplifting energy. The vocal is wonderfully simple, with no backing vocals, but the delivery draws you in with the same energy as a singer like Lou Reed, ensuring the track is nothing short of an earworm.

On the track Todd Binder adds: “At its core, “Easy Kinda“ is a fun song! It’s a runaway upbeat bop that takes us on a wild and twangy ride through the trials and tribulations of life and love, all the while looking for an easier path… There’s something for everyone in this banger!”

Easy Kinda“ is that track you didn’t realise was missing from your playlist. It’s definitely a song worth checking out. Connect with Todd Binder: Spotify | Instagram | Facebook
