A couple new singles from Sweet Teeth

Fans of Mike Ness are going to be overjoyed when they hear Andreas Axelson’s gritty vocals on the new tracks from Sweet Teeth. This band comes to us from Sweden where, evidently, they have very little time for f’ing around because “Break My Heart Again,” gets straight to the point. And with a runtime of 1 minute and 37 seconds, the track isn’t sticking around long enough for much else. But if a song is a metaphor for a relationship, I suppose it’s a good thing to have your heart ripped out sooner than later. It would appear that this was Sweet Teeth’s plan all along:

With ”High Anxiety,” we wanted to make an album with as little hassle as possible. No long solos or extra unnecessary stuff to fill out the songs, they simply didn’t need that.

Make no mistake: these guys will rock you in half the time, so fasten your seatbelts, keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle, and crank the volume until the knob busts off.

And to prove to music fans that Sweet Teeth are capable of writing rockers that push past the two minute mark, they have just released another new single, “Love Panic,” complete with a Sonic Youth-esque intro and, again, Axelson’s marvelous and gritty tenor. The group shows their playful side with the animation portrayed in the song’s lyric video:

The band describes “Love Panic” as: ”…by far the most powerpoppy song we’ve ever written, I’m not sure if we’ll ever do one like this again. The lyrics are about classic first date nerves and all the anxiety and joy that love brings, hence the title. It’s influenced by late ’80s and early ’90s alternative rock…”

Sweden, you never let us down. Sweet Teeth’s LP, High Anxiety, will be available everywhere on October 14.
