Smokey Brights - “Hollow Feeling”

Seattle, WA-based Smokey Brights have just released the gorgeously intimate indie folk song “Hollow Feeling.” Full of alluring tones and dazzling vocal harmonies, this track is one not to miss.
“Hollow Feeling” opens to warm, soothing acoustic guitar that sets a slow and inviting groove. Layers are thoughtfully applied on top, starting with mellow, electric guitar that weaves glorious, introspective tones into the arrangement. These unusual, dreamy sounds make it hard not to get absorbed into the ethereal soundscape that is created.
As the song progresses two additional acoustic guitars are used over key areas to give a satisfying sense of width. Synthesizer is also applied helping to enhance the meditative atmosphere. The emotional impact of the song is magnified by the wonderful use of dynamics, creating a pleasing ebb and flow. Over pivotal sections, the dynamics grow and intensify, giving the track a real sense of heart and soul.
The vocals on “Hollow Feeling” are the icing on the cake, with intimate, breathy, and gorgeously gentle expressions. The female backing vocals are just as delicate, heightening the emotional depth of the performance with rich harmonies. The whole performance is simply captivating.
