Silvi - “Burning”
If you’ve ever come across Silvi’s “wee sneak peak” of her Electric Honey session, you have, without a doubt, been long awaiting the release of “Burning.” Silvi is another one of those musical entities that might not exist had it not been for the COVID lockdowns, but, thankfully, she spent her newfound free time giving us treasures like “That’s Not Love,” which deserves its own page on this blog… or on any blog, for that matter.
“Burning” is further proof that she is surely destined for bigger and better things. As our good friend Lewca says, “This would be the soundtrack to the next Bond film if they actually had the balls to cast Idris Elba; it’s that f*cking cool.” Quite honestly, her voice would be enough to carry a mediocre performance from any band, but, on “Burning,” each instrument is carefully placed and mixed to perfection, with first-class production to boot. This soulful ballad soars in its entirety and though it concludes rather abruptly, it makes perfect sense to press play again, just like we’ve been doing.
