Signe Vange - “Skyscraper”
Danish artist Signe Vange has just released the gorgeously mellow “Skyscraper” (feat. Lise Westzynthius). The song can only be described as an epically chilled anthem, with slight tinges of melancholy shining from its meditative tones.
“Skyscraper” is built around a gentle, vintage sounding piano that serenely fleshes out the song’s melody. The chords gently sustain their notes, melting into each other and forming a warm atmosphere. A subtle, ethereal pad complements the piano by enhancing the dreamy tones, while the bass forms a warm and deep foundation.
As the song progresses, acoustic guitar adds a bright texture to the arrangement whilst direction is given by the slow pulse of the drums. I adore how beautifully sparse “Skyscraper” is, enabling these components to create the atmosphere of an anthem.
With a wonderfully understated guitar solo, the arrangement’s dynamics satisfyingly grow as the song nears its climax. It gently riffs as the notes fade into the composition, thanks to a generous amount of reverb. Here, an organ pad is added to the track, boosting its warm, introspective vibe.
“Skyscraper” has a vocal that is nothing short of stunning. It is gentle, breezy, and gorgeously expressive. There is a real peaceful atmosphere created, especially with the harmonizing, doubling, and backing layers. The beautiful and thoughtful lyrics enhance the track’s overall immersive experience.
This is an epically beautiful masterpiece, filled with gentle tones and hauntingly gorgeous vocals. “Skyscraper” is the lead single from Signe Vange’s third EP.
