Isle of Lewis, Scotland-based singer-songwriter Rosie H Sullivan is back with “Only A Woman,” a track that explores the complex nature of being a female in the twenty-first Century.

Sullivan does not waste any time here, promptly beginning her vocal delivery as soon as you press the play button. Her stunning voice glides across the treetops of acoustic guitar chords, delicately describing herself as a “grain of sand” who will “never fit.” An additional guitar soon arrives in order to softly widen the production. And on the refrain, Sullivan has doubled her vocal, which results in a magnificent sonic experience, especially when witnessed through headphones.

The arrival of the second verse brings a fully fleshed-out arrangement, complete with bass and drums, lifting “Only A Woman” to a heavenly level. And it is here where we find a complete sonic enchantment as the song glides through its ebullient soundscape. Although the subject matter would have you believe otherwise, the music possesses the ability to make you feel quite wonderful– it is breezy and graceful and will likely have your feet tapping along to its exuberance.

Only A Woman” encompasses qualities that cause it to comfortably reside within two worlds of music: folk and pop. Filled with dynamic peaks and valleys, listeners will walk away completely satisfied. The track comes ahead of Sullivan’s new EP, In My Nature, due for release on November 10th.

About the track, Sullivan adds: “Writing this with Katie Sutherland who is an artist, a songwriter, a musician, a mother, a woman!, and someone who inspires me, was amazing, and I’m so proud to share this one with her. The second verse was inspired by an Emma Thomson interview she gave, to not waste your life worrying about your body – a powerful interview and words that stuck with me.”
