Punk Rock Saturday

Alright, so we are done numbering these things with Roman numerals. From here on out, they will simply be called "Punk Rock Saturday.” You can blame the educational system if you want, but we made it to VIII before it gave us mathematical PTSD, so… here we are and here we shall remain, numberless.

This week’s first act is freaking monumental. All Hours is an Australian pop-punk band that also manages to scratch that hard-to-reach post-hardcore itch with their new single, “Light.” The track comes ahead of their upcoming re-release of the EP, Perspectives. All Hours were recently signed to Velocity Records and we foresee a bright future of endless tours for them, assuming that the pandemic is, for the most part, behind us. Until then, if you wanna relive the glorious sounds of yesteryear’s Warped Tour, check out the video for “Light:”

There is something special about a band that meets as youngsters, then grows into a sonic force of solid songwriting, a super tight rhythm section, and pro level vocal harmonization. All Systems Go are already killing it with their previous releases, Garden State Skies and The Waiting Room, but on October 6th, the New Jersey pop-punk band will release their long-awaited followup, Non-Fiction. Pressing play on the new record immediately brings back memories of listening to one of my favorite records from one of my favorite Chicago bands: Alkaline Trio’s Good Mourning. At my age, as far as I’m concerned, punk music has become the ability to latch on to the nostalgia of simpler times, good friends, and a few trips to the emergency room, thanks to the neighborhood halfpipe. In this respect, All Systems Go completely nail it. “What About a Shipwreck in Canada” is a solid starter for their new record and we are already fans. Fortunately, for you, the band is offering it up on their Bandcamp, so do everyone a favor and throw ‘em some support:

From there, it only gets better with track two, “Rotten Tomatoes,” though this one is more along the lines of Blink-182, with the harmonies hitting that sweet spot in the way that only harmonies can do. Oh, those glorious harmonies. All Systems Go did not supply a pre-save link, but you can get a taste of what Non-Fiction shall bring, as well as follow their socials:

P.S. We found a pre-save for Non-Fiction on their Instagram.

Mellowing it out with more of a blue-collar feel, akin to the sonic glory of Social Distortion, we have arrived at Timeshares, who have just released a full-length album entitled Limb via Wiretap Records. The video for the album’s single, “Siren Sound,” won us over as soon as we saw the golden retriever, but we are very pleased to have stuck around to actually hear the track, which is some good-old, feel-good rock and roll, tinged with that savory vibe of this genre’s founding fathers. While the video is available here, we are once again encouraging you to show some support on Bandcamp:

Okay, wait. Although we linked to the video above, we would not be able to live with ourselves if we let your Punk Rock Saturday end without making sure you’ve been given every chance to see that pupperz:

Wanna listen to Punk Rock Saturday all week? Check out the playlist:

And if you want your band to be featured on Punk Rock Saturday, all you have to do is stop being an asshole and send us some music.
