Proper Youth - “Edited Adrenaline”

Drawing inspiration from their shared love for ‘80s music, Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Proper Youth have hit the blog with “Edited Adrenaline.”

They do not waste any time with this one, beginning immediately with a fleshed-out, full-band arrangement. The sound comes complete with an upbeat tempo and shimmering, twangy guitars reminiscent of both Springsteen and Big Thief.

The vocals are a real highlight with “Edited Adrenaline,” saturated in a warm overdrive that provides a vintage, nostalgic listening experience. And though the song is firmly planted within the genre of indie rock, there is certainly no denying its Americana tendencies.

Subdued vocal layers have been utilized at the most opportune of times, adding just the right amount of width to the performance. The song also employs a deliciously loving spoonful of saxophone to underscore its driving, energetic rhythm section.

From start to finish, we’re certain that you’re going to love “Edited Adrenaline.” It nails down a gritty rock and roll vibe and has been unmistakably crafted by hardworking musicians who obviously know a thing or two about songwriting.
