Nova Scotia-based alt-folk duo Art Ross and Aaron Green, aka Pillow Fite, have just released “More Of That,” a slow-burning track ignited by intense connection and spontaneity.

More Of That” begins quite gently, initiated by the notes of a clean electric guitar before dreamily bursting to life. The arrangement is fully fleshed, with the breezy sway of the rhythm section propelling the song forward, planting one foot in the rawness of indie folk and the other in a dream-pop perfection.

Ross’ sweet voice arrives with a performance that is warmly reminiscent of Phoebe Bridgers and Aimee Mann, delicately feeding words into your ears that traverse the lustrous glow of infatuation. The refrain provides an additional layer of vocals, offering a satisfying sense of elevation and width to the production.

The final third of the song ushers in a heaping dose of indie-rock goodness, with the overdrive engaged on a melodic guitar solo. From there, the drums hit a bit harder and, after a brief dynamic break, “More Of That” concludes with an epically robust arrangement that will have you returning to it, over and over again.

More Of That” comes from the duo’s forthcoming LP, Hard Feelings, Soft Promises, due for release on October 11th. Connect with Pillow Fite online: Instagram | Spotify | TikTok | Facebook | Bandcamp
