Ralph Pelleymounter - “Death Falls in Love”

Ralph Pelleymounter’s new release, “Death Falls in Love,” is quite lovely and incredibly atmospheric. The song gets off to a pretty subtle start and its lyrics are narrated with a deep, soulful voice. The only description I can even attempt to reach for is Nick Cave/Americana. Pouring out the tale with a sound like whisky, I am captivated by the poetry-filled lyrics. Pelleymounter exhibits great artistry and talent as a songwriter in “Death Falls in Love”... and I am completely blown away. The warm, cozy sound of the guitar reminds one of a bar in the American West. You are progressively drawn into this slow-burning epic by low slide guitar notes which cry out like vivid memories. I really appreciate how the song builds to something enormous before dying back. Organ stabs and beautiful percussion sounds drive the chorus as Pelleymounter embodies what is close to the spirit of Leonard Cohen. Female background vocals swell, fostering a mysterious mood. The song is definitely one to listen to!

Pelleymounter says ““Death Falls in Love” knits together creation stories with tales of DEATH and the Boatman to form a modern myth, a tragedy about love and obsession.”
