Keyside - “Paris To Marseille”
Keyside’s latest release, “Paris To Marseille,” is another delightful slice of indie from this promising band from Liverpool. It ticks all the boxes of an indie song, providing an easy melody and big singalong choruses.
The song’s breezy, jangling guitar riffs and bright acoustic guitar provide a solid foundation for the music. And these jangling riffs are reminiscent of The La’s, The Stone Roses, and/or The Smiths. The bass adds a pulsing rhythm beneath the song and also has a nice and deep retro feel to its tone. The song just oozes those traditional British guitar-based sounds we all know and love.
However, the standout feature of “Paris To Marseille,” for me, is undoubtedly the soaring vocals. The lead singer has a really great and unique Liverpudlian twang to his vocals. The chorus sections are infectious, with the catchy “Paris To Marseille” hook. I can see this going down well live and will have an audience singing at the top of their voice.
Keyside have definitely delivered a fantastic indie rock anthem with “Paris To Marseille.” The production is polished and well-executed and everything about this song has class written across it.
