Pale Moon - “Spaghetti”
Iceland-based duo Árni & Nata, aka Pale Moon, have just served up a brand new retro soul-infused dish of indie rock entitled “Spaghetti.”
It’s okay if you’ve already eaten– it’s officially the weekend and you deserve to treat yourself to this fine, melodious plat du jour. Pressing play initiates the smooth sounds of the early ‘70s, complete with a slow-dancing rhythm section, some retro guitar sounds, and backing vocals that are simply to die for.
Nata’s vocal slides right into the arrangement, as smooth and charming as can be, carefully calculated as it interweaves with Árni’s craftsmanship. And as tongue-in-cheek as the song’s title might be, when “Spaghetti” enters your ears, it drives home the idea that the duo take their songwriting quite seriously.
In its four-minute-and-twenty-second duration, Pale Moon take you on a journey through the sounds of yesteryear while still maintaining a tight grasp on modern production. Other than the delicious vocal work, highlights include offerings from the lead guitar, reverberated and vibey as all hell, and a chorus with a hefty dose of “Du-du-du-du-dum’s,” which we just do not get enough of these days.
“Spaghetti” comes ahead of Pale Moon’s second album, Carpets, Cables, and Sweaty Hearts, and although we do not know when it shall be released, we guarantee that we will be featuring much more of their music in the future.
