Loren Noyman - “In The Morning”
If you think Loren Noyman resembles an angel in the above photo, just wait until you hear her voice. Her new track, “In The Morning,” immediately won us over with its Joni Mitchell and Karen Carpenter vibes, opening with a steady kick drum beneath some sweetly played acoustic guitar. Then Noyman’s confident vocal comes in, harnessing her emotion and hitting every note as she claims: “In the morning, all my fears will vanish.” For those of you who begin each day with positive affirmations, this one’s for you.
The verse continues with Noyman’s storytelling, slightly melancholic as the song begins to build. And listeners will be amazed with the vibrato in her falsetto– not necessarily operatic, but more of a vintage sound– we are quite certain that you will find no autotune here; her voice is completely genuine. At about 90 seconds in, “In The Morning” gathers some additional instrumentation, lifting the song up a bit and carrying us into the second verse, which is where we find a gratifying vocal harmony. And then, a minute later, the rest of the percussion appears, elevating the production once more as the song turns its attention to a melodic violin, ever rising until we are left with just the acoustic guitar and Noyman’s vocals, ending the song as sparsely as it began, “barefoot on the ground again.”
This is the second single from Noyman’s upcoming album and we cannot wait to hear the rest of it. About the track, she adds: “‘In The Morning’ is a song which was written at a point in time which I felt a great emotional weight, an internal turbulence and uncertain about how to move forward. The songwriting process was extremely intimate and personal, the music was thrust out from me.”
